There are plenty of the words related to the death in Chinese. This study focuses on the category of the letter, ‘Si(死)’, indicating the death of human being. To be more specific, this would examine the usage of the word, ‘Si(死)’, structured by Separate-combinative compounds(離合詞). One of the reasons why ‘Si(死)’ is chosen as the subject is because of the fluency it has when it is expressed into language. The words dealt with by this paper are regarded as the form of Separate-combinative compounds used as the expressive way of the death from old times till now. It is usually difficult for foreigners, especially, Koreans to understand Separate-combinative compounds when they were trying to learn Chinese. It is very important to research Separate-combinative compounds within the various points of views in order to find an effective way of educating Chinese language. This is because the structure of Separate-combinative compounds is one of the most distinguishing characteristics. This paper intends to choose the basic texts and examine the words in them as the objects of this research. This begins to classify the words of death based on the same meaning. It is possible to evaluate this way of studying about Separate-combinative compounds as a new and different attempt from the others, and this would be strongly recommended for the better way to research more accurately the structure in Separate-combinative compounds from now on.

중국어에서 죽음과 관련된 단어는 그 수가 아주 많은데, 여기에서는 ‘死’류라 하여 인간과 관련된 단어를 중심으로 연구를 진행하였다. 또한 이 ‘死’류 단어 가운데에서 그 구조가 이합 사인 단어로 한정하여 이 단어들의 쓰임 등을 중점적으로 알아보고자 하였다. ‘死’류 단어를 선택한 이유는 죽음의 표현에서 다양하게 나타나기 때문에 그만큼 많은 양의 단어가 있기 때 문이다. 여기에서 다룬 단어는 예로부터 지금까지 죽음을 표현하는 단어들 가운데 이합사로 구성된 것이다. 이합사는 외국인 특히 한국인에게 있어서도 중국어 학습에서 어려운 것 가운 데 하나이다. 단어를 ‘이(離)’ 또는 ‘합(合)’할 수 있는 것은 중국어의 특수한 성질이기에 중국 어교육을 위해서도 이러한 이합사 연구는 다양한 각도에서 진행할 필요가 있다. 본 연구에서는 이를 위해 기본 텍스트를 정하고 여기에 수록된 단어들을 모두 조사하여 연구 대상으로 하였다. 죽음이라는 동일한 의미에 따른 단어의 이합사 내용으로 이는 다른 이 합사 연구와는 다른 각도에서 출발을 했다. 지금까지 동일한 의미를 가진 부류의 연구가 진행 되었으나 이와 같이 의미 분류에 따른 이합사에 관련된 연구는 없었으므로 이 또한 새로운 시도라고 할 수 있다. 이와 같이 단어구조 연구에서 동일한 의미에 의한 구조 등의 연구로 영역을 넓혀야 할 것이다
