The purpose of this study is to explore the method of storytelling education based on the moed of Talmud and then to apply it to Christian education in the twenty-first century. As such, while facing the twenty-first century, I argue that it is time to change Christian education which is involved in the whole spiritual maturity and development. I suggest an alternative method, which relates to the Jewish Talmud, in order to resolve the problem of previous literature of Christian education. Talmud as a religious text has superbly kept Jewish ethnicity and their faithful identity for a long time. I believe that by using this Talmud, Korean Christians are able to recover their religious identity and to reorient their way of Christian education. The method of storytelling education is a means for enjoying the social life of a person within the Jewish community, and the oldest means of the communication for sharing the communal value, belief, culture, and history from generation to generation. More specifically, storytelling education is a kind of form which is essentially involved in receiving comfort and searching progress through the exchange of public and communal experiences, and a kind of method which is deeply engaged in concrete life-in order to have a talk and to share an opinion one another. By using this method of storytelling education, we are able to establish more appropriate Christian education in the Korean Christian community which leads us to be aware of God’s history and truth which are presented in the Bible, to accomplish the whole spiritual growth and development by way of learning a mature Christian lifestyle, to experience a sense of wellbeing, and to earn Christian identity and Christian solidarity/fellowship within the context of Korean churches.

본 연구의 목적은 유대교의 탈무드 절기에 나타난 이야기 교육방법을 분석하여 21세기 기독교 교육에 새롭게 적용할 가능성을 모색하는 데에 있다. 본 연구는 이러한 문제를 해결하는 대안으로 유대교의 탈무드에서 찾고자 한다. 유대인 들이 그들의 민족과 신앙의 정체성을 탁월하게 보존하고 전승하는 가장 중심적인 종교적 텍스트인 탈무드를 통해서 신앙의 정체성과 방향성을 상실한 한국교회의 기독교 교육에 새로운 가능성을 제시할 수 있는 기회가 될 수 있다고 본다. 이야기 교육방법은 공통된 공동경험을 서로 나눔을 통해 위로를 받고 발전을 도모하는 교육방법으로서, 실제적인 삶과 관련하여 경험과 의견을 서로 이야기하는 형식이다. 그러 므로 기독교 교육을 위해 성경에서 제시하고 있는 내용을 중심으로 하여 하나님의 역사와 진리를 깨닫고, 기독교인으로서의 삶을 배움으로 인하여 전인적 영적 성장과 발달, 그리고 심리적 안정감을 부여해 주며, 이야기 교육을 통해서 기독교인으로서 자부심과 신앙공동 체의 소속감과 공동체 정신을 배울 수 있다고 본다.
