The purpose of this study is to examine the relationship between the pshychosical adjustment of adopted children and their adoptive mothers' parenting style in open adoption of Korea. For this purpose, the adopted children were divided into two groups, the highly well adjusted group vs the lowly bad group, and then the adoptive parenting style of two groups was examined. The data were collected through in-depth interviews with six adopted children and their six adoptive mothers and were analyzed using qualitative thematic analysis. Results of analysis, the overriding theme was ‘warmheartedness’ & ‘control’, which illustrates adoptive mothers' parenting style. The following subthemes includes “acceptance”, “autonomy”, “intimacy”, “positivity”, “punishment”, “consistency”, “hierarchy”, and “reaction” Each of eight subthemes is categorized into ‘proper function’ vs ‘dysfunction’. Adoptive mothers' parenting style showed the distinctive differences between two groups. Based on the results of this study, the practical guidelines and post-adoption services for adoptive parents are suggested.

본 연구의 목적은 공개입양의 입양아동의 심리사회적 적응과 입양모의 양육행동 간 이 어 떠한 관련성이 있는지를 탐색하고자 하는 것이다. 이러한 목적을 달성하기 위하여 본 연구에 서는 입양아동의 심리사회적 적응이 매우 높은 고적응집단과 매우 낮은 저적응집단으로 나누 어 입양모의 양육행동에 집단 간 차이가 있는지 여부를 살펴보았다. 본 연구는 질적 조사방법 론을 사용하였고 본 연구 참여자는 고적응집단의 입양아동 3명과 그들의 입양모 3명, 저적응 집단의 입양아동 3명과 그들의 양모 3명, 총 12명으로 심층면접을 통하여 자료를 수집하고 질 적 중심주제 분석법으로 자료를 분석하였다. 자료 분석 결과, 중심주제는 ‘온정’과 ‘통제’라는 두 가지 주제로 도출되었고 중심주제의 하위주제는 ‘수용성’ ‘자율성’ ‘친밀성’ ‘적극성’ ‘체벌’ ‘일관성’ ‘위계성’ ‘반응성’ 으로 분류되었다. 각각의 하위주제는 순기능과 역기능으로 양극성 을 가진 개념으로 통합되었고, 입양모의 양육행동은 집단 간 뚜렷한 차이를 나타내었다. 이러 한 연구결과를 토대로 향 후 입양실천 현장에서 제공되는 입양부모를 위한 부모교육, 양육방 법 등 입양사후서비스에 대한 구체적인 실천지침을 제언하였다.
