This article deals with the need of reconciliation ministry in contemporary era and the matter of what spirituality of reconciliation means and how it can be enhanced. People who are living in a ruptured and strife-riden world are suffering from many conflicts and split at a range of levels from individual to international. Humans are created in the image of God and an intrinsic attribute of God is relationship. Therefore, people have a desire of the restoration of relationship, in other words, a desire of reconciliation. The church should meet the demands of the times, since God restored the severed relationship with humans (caused by human sin) through Jesus Christ to the reconciled relationship, and calls the church and Christians to be the agents of reconciliation ministry. Therefore, the church and Christians are endowed the vocation of reconciliation ministry to heal the broken world. This article suggests that the individuals’ spirituality of reconciliation is the foundation and the power to create and sustain reconciliation ministry. The spirituality of reconciliation can be referred to as the restoration of the relational image of God, and signifies the restoration and recreation of reconciliation. The restoration of relationship should develop in all dimensions of one’s relationships: God, self, and others. Among them, the essential dimension of one’s relationship is the relationship with God. In that, this article suggests that the way of enhancing the spirituality of reconciliation is ‘re-storying’ which interprets one’s life story through Jesus’ story. ‘Re-storying’ enables Christians to re-discover their spiritual identity and vocation. When Christians realize that Jesus’ story is the reconciling story, they will be convinced that they are called to the agents of reconciliation ministry. Consequently, this article suggests that the church should be a community enlarging God’s reconciling work to the world. For that, Church should enhance Christians’ spirituality of reconciliation through worship, education, prayer, spiritual direction, community service, and so on.

본 논문은 교회의 화해사역의 시대적 필요성과 화해사역의 토대인 화해의 영성이란 무엇이고 어떻게 화해의 영성을 고양할 수 있을 것인가 하는 문제를 다루고 있다. 오늘의 시대는 개인적 차원으로부터, 소그룹. 공동체. 사회적. 국가적 차원의 다양한 갈등과 분열로 많은 사람들이 고통 받고 있다. 인간은 하나님의 형상으로 창조되었기 때문에 하나님의 본질적 속성 중의 하나인 관계성에 대한 갈망이 있는데 이는 관계의 회복, 즉 화해에 대한 갈망이라고 할 수 있다. 교회는 이런 시대적 요청에 응답해야 하는데, 하나님이 예수 그리스도를 통해 죄로 인해 단절된 인간과의 관계를 화해된 관계로 회복하셨기 때문이고 교회와 그리스도인들을 이 화해사역의 대리인으로 부르셨기 때문이다. 따라서 교회는 갈등으로 점철된 세상을 치유해야 하는 화해사역의 소명을 부여받았다. 본 논문에서는 이 화해사역을 시작하게 하는 토대이자 지탱하게 하는 힘은 화해의 영성이라고 제시하였는데, 이는 그리스도인들의 내적 영성이 외적 실천으로 구현되기 때문이다. 화해의 영성은 관계적 하나님의 형상을 회복하는 것으로 관계의 회복과 재창조를 의미하며, 관계의 회복은 인간관계의 모든 방향들에서 일어나야 한다: 하나님. 자신. 타자. 인간관계의 가장 본질적인 방향은 하나님과의 관계이기 때문에, 본 논문은 화해의 영성을 형성하고 고양할 수 있는 방법은 예수그리스도의 삶을 통해 자신의 삶을 재해석하는 ‘Re-storying’이라고 제안하였다. 예수 그리스도의 이야기를 자신의 이야기를 재해석하는 거울과 창문으로 보게 될 때 그리스도인들은 치유를 경험하고 용서를 배우게 되고, ‘나는 누구인가’하는 정체성과 ‘내 삶의 목적은 무엇인가’하는 소명을 깨닫게 된다는 것이다. 하나님의 형상으로 창조되었고, 십자가를 통해 용서받은 죄인으로 깨닫게 될 때 그리스도인들은 예수 그리스도의 이야기가 화해를 위한 이야기임을 알게 되고, 자신을 화해의 대리자로 깨닫게 될 것이다. 따라서 본 논문은 사회적 화해를 위해 교회는 하나님의 화해사역을 확장하는 화해사역의 대리자로서의 공동체가 되어야 하고 교회는 하나님의 화해사역의 완성에 대한 기대와 희망 속에서 이 분쟁과 단절의 시대에 치유를 가져올 수 있는 과정으로서의 화해사역을 위해 화해의 영성을 고양해야 하는데, 이는 예배. 교육. 기도. 영성지도. 사회봉사. 선교 등을 통해 그리스도인들의 내면에 형성되어질 수 있다고 제안하였다.
