An improved design process for a compact ring-slot type antenna for rectenna which has superior and controllable properties in size, energy reception efficiency and harmonics suppression is proposed. The antenna has slits and side-cuts to control the return loss at resonant frequency band, the suppression band, and the axial ratio of circular polarization. The 7 design parameters are optimized using the Adaptive Particle Swarm Optimization algorithm with multi objectives. The proposed antenna shows a desirable performance of return loss of 21.36dB and axial ratio of 2.92dB at the frequency of 2.45GHz with compact size 50x50mm.
