This paper analyzes the 'New Right Movement' discourse as countermovement discourse, which was broadcasted in a SBS discussion program. It was considered as important text containing political symbols in performing a discourse politics between the conservative bloc and the progressive bloc in Korean society. Along with the text, more specifically, this paper analyzes the articulation structure and social meanings of the political symbols like community liberals. Based on the research results, this paper suggests that it is necessary to argue community liberals in relation to power, in order that korean ideology discourse is to be more productive. Moreover, this paper suggests that the ideology of liberals is to be more open and reflexive.

본고는 대응사회운동(countermovement)으로서의 ‘뉴라이트 운동’을 한국사회의 담론정치의 한 과정으로 보고SBS 토론 프로그램에서 행해졌던 뉴라이트 운동 담론 분석을 기초로 ‘뉴라이트 운동’에서 차용한 주요 정치 상징들의 사회적 의미와 접합 구조를 분석한다. 분석 결과, 보수 블록은 보수 블록에 내재하는 수구 세력이라는 기존의 의미 관계를 재 정의하기 위해 ‘공동체 자유주의’라는 정치 상징을 부각시키며‘뉴라이트는 개혁적 보수 세력이다’라고 말하고 있었다. 본고의 뉴라이트 운동 담론 분석을 기초로 한 제언은 다음과 같다. 첫째, 한국 사회의 이념 담론이 생산적이기 위해서 공동체 자유주의는 권력의 문제와 연계되어 논의될 필요가 있고, 자유주의 이념은 보다 개방적이고 성찰적인 혁신을 통해 자유주의의 지평이 확대되고 심화될 필요가 있다. 둘째, 한국 사회에서 ‘뉴라이트 운동’이 시민사회운동으로서의 정당성과 동원화에 성공하기 위해서는 ‘뉴라이트’를 지향하는 보수블럭이 현 정부의 국가 정체성 훼손 문제와 같은 소모적 논쟁에서 벗어나야 하는 한편, 한국 사회의 불균등한 권력 관계에서 차별받고 소외 받는 공동체를 포용할 수 있는 신선한 정책적인 대안들을 제시할 수 있을 때 가능할 것으로 보인다.
