The purpose of this study was to sort typology and analyze characteristic of each type on viewing attitude of dance performances. P-sample was composed of 41 adults who have been viewed dance performances for more three years. 5 criticism ways suggested by Stolnitz were applied for the types, and Q-methodology known for subjective study was used. I made P-sample distribute Q-cards and then generate the following results by using principal component factor analysis. Viewing attitude of dance performance were categorized into four groups, divided into intentionalism interest type’, ‘immanent/ rule interest type’, ‘context interest type’ and ‘impressionism interest type’.

본고에서는 무용공연 관람자의 관람태도에 대해서 유형화하고 각 유형의 특성을 분석하는데 있다. 본 연구의 연구대상자는 무용공연을 3년 이상 관람하는 성인 33명을 P-sample로 선정하였다. 무용공연 관람 태도 유형은 스톨니쯔가 제시한 예술비평 5가지 방법을 적용하였다. 또한 주관성 연구로 알려진 Q 방법론을 이용하였다. 자료처리는 P표본(33명)에게 Q 분류를 하도록 한 후, QUANL PC program에 의해 주인자분석법(principal component factor analysis)을 이용하여 다음과 같은 결과를 도출하였다. 무용공연 관람 태도는 4가지 유형으로 분석되었다. 첫째, 의도주의 관심형, 둘째, 내재적/규칙 관심형, 셋째, 맥락 관심형, 넷째, 인상주의 관심형으로 분류되었다.
