The purpose of this study is to analyze the Beauty of movement like Water Flowing found in the Korean traditional dance with the help of Yin-Yang principal Especially the Flexion-Extension and Breathing, the fundamental element of Yi Mae-Bang Yip-chum, were analyzed with Yin-Yang principal. Beauty of movement like Water Flowing in the Yi Mae-Bang Yip-chum is Beauty made by inhale and exhale of breathing, and Flexion-Extension of bending and stretching in the lower body movement. Yi Mae-Bang Yip-chum, shows this characteristic very cleary, because there is no stop motion in the Yi Mae-Bang Yip-chum. Since the Flexion-Extension and all steps of Yip-chum were performed by Yin-Yang principal, they are looked like the shape of wave. The Breathing and Flexion-Extension are influenced each other making the same movement. And the DaeSamSoSam(Large and Small Movement of dance) also makes large and small movement of Flexion-Extension, so the Beauty of movement like Water Flowing is represented cleary. Aesthetic characteristic of Yi Mae-Bang Yip-chum could be represented as the Beauty of movement like Water Flowing. Therefore, the like Water Flowing characteristic has been performed as representing beauty of Yi Mae-Bang Yip-chum, via the middle-of-the-road of Yin and Yang, and also like “SuTaekJulGwae(水澤節卦)” in I Ching.

본 연구는 이매방 입춤에 나타나는 유수적 유동미를 음양원리에 입각하여 해석해 보는데 그 목적이 있다. 특히 이매방 춤 중 가장 기본이 되는 입춤을 구성하고 있는 굴신과 호흡을 중심으로 음양원리에 입각하여 해석하여 접근하였다. 이매방 입춤에서 유수적 유동미는 하체사위에 있어 굽히고 펴는 굴신과 호흡에 있어 들숨과 날숨에 관련하여 생기는 미로 이매방 입춤에서는 정지된 동작들이 없기 때문에 더욱 확실하게 나타난다. 굴신은 기본 굴신 뿐만 아니라 하체사위 각 디딤새들 또한 철저하게 음양원리에 입각하여 이루어짐으로써 물결 파장형태를 형성하고 있다. 호흡은 굴신과의 상관성으로 함께 나아가고 있으며 여기에 춤의 강약인 대삼소삼이 적용됨으로써 굴신에 강약이 생기게 되어 유수적 유동미는 더욱 두드러지게 나타난다. 이러한 유수적 특징은 못 위에 물이 있는 󰡔주역󰡕에서의 수택절괘와 같이 물이 지나쳐 넘치지 않게 음과 양이 적당하게 자기의 할 바를 지켜 중도를 지킴으로써 그 형통함이 미로 표현된 것이다.
