The ain of this study is to investigate the relationship between self-management and athletic satisfaction of a total of 400 football players registered in the Korean Football Association in 2012. For this study, they were divided into three groups according to the type of attending school: Middle School group(n=129), High School group(n=120), and College group(n=121). From our experience in conducting stepwise multiple regression analysis, we would make the following recommendations. First, male or female athletes attending middle school are satisfied with their athletic careers due to their mental management of the factors of the self-management. In case of those who attending high school, they have the satisfaction with their athletic careers through their body and mental management. But the interpersonal relationship is a significant factor to make college athletes satisfied with their athletic careers. Second, for male or female athletes attending middle school, the factor to contribute to the satisfaction with their external environment is the training management of the factors of the self-management. Those who are attending high school are satisfied with their external environment because of their mental management. In case of college athletes, while training and mental management affects male athletes, body management affects female athletes. Third, in terms of contribution to the satisfaction with social approval, male or female athletes attending middle school are related to the training management of the factors of the self-management. Those who are attending high school are to their mental management what those who are attending college are to their training and mental management.
