This study aimed to provide basic academic data by comparing and analyzing safety awareness of aero modelling club members for prevention of safety accidents and development of aero modelling. For the study, safety proficiency, communication and safety procedures were researched, and the study subjects are instructors and members who are currently participating in activities related to aero modelling in 2012. Using SPSS 18.0, factor analysis, frequency analysis, independent samples t-test and one-way ANOVA were performed. The result is summarized below. First, the result of safety awareness analysis by participation type showed meaningful differences in all of safety proficiency, communication and safety procedures (p<.001). Second, the result of safety awareness analysis by age showed meaningful differences by group in safety proficiency (p<.001), communication and safety procedures (p<.01). Third, the result of safety awareness analysis by experience showed meaningful differences by group in safety proficiency, communication and safety procedures (p<.001). Fourth, the result of safety awareness analysis by event showed meaningful differences by group in safety proficiency (p<.001), safety procedures and communication (p<.01). As explained above, safety awareness in aero modelling activities was shown differently by instructors and members and by participation type, age, experience and event. It is necessary to improve safety awareness of overall participants. Thus, I suggest following studies to categorize and compare styles of safety awareness.
