BRICs account for approximately 18 percent of nominal GDP, 42 percent of the population and 28 percent of the land area in the world. BRICs have made themselves known again in the world owing to the recovery of foreign direct investment since 2000 after the global financial crisis took place. As BRICs have drawn attention in terms of world economy, a quantitative analysis was made to grasp the major determinants of foreign direct investment in BRICs by Korean companies. When a panel regression analysis was conducted to find out the determinants of the foreign direct investment of Korean companies in BRICs, GDP of the nations that represented their market size had a significant positive relationship to foreign direct investment of Korean companies as expected, and their labor power also had a significant positive relationship as expected. But there was no significant relationship between wages and that, and the foreign exchange rate(FEX) was identified as a variable to have a significant positive relationship. It could be interpreted that foreign direct investment in BRICs was under the influence of not only the labor force of the nations but the rising value of the won on a short-term basis.
