Among the objects of exploration in economic education, this study aims to suggest it is necessary to consider dependent and cooperative relationship that occurs within the interest and mutual relationship among social members in the process of choice and decision making. As the drivers for reasonable choice suggested in elementary school economic education, it is needed to enhance individuals’ interest motivation and also understanding of social economy and support their development of knowledge about and attitudes towards reciprocal economy. In particular, elementary school students’ recognition on economic concepts is influenced simultaneously by empirical consciousness before theoretical or logical approaches. Therefore, elementary school economic education should be organized meaningfully for children from their everyday lives. Understanding of economic principles through simultaneous consideration of personal and social relationship helps them think and make decisions rationally about problematic economic situations and also allows them to make decisions flexibly according to the situations, so it rather lets them form proper economic concepts. This study suggests economic education that can consider both private and social interests simultaneously by using value exploration regarding economic choice and decision making. This suggestion constructs the process of exploration to economic value that each individual can cooperate and live together helping and sharing with each other through economic choice as a member of society living with other people as well as having his or her own interest. To attain the goal, the study analyzes the elementary school curriculum and textbooks related with economic education and reorganizes the learning contents including social value. And it suggests the teaching plans as the process of preparing for economic class including social value based on the reorganized learning contents of economy.

본 연구는 경제교육의 탐구 대상 중 선택과 의사결정과정에서 사회 구성원간의 이해관계와 상호관계 속에서 발생하는 의존과 협력관계 고려가 필요함을 제안하고자 한다. 초등학교 경제교육에서 제안되는 합리적 선택을 위한 동인으로 개인의 이익 동기뿐 아니라 사회적 경제에 대한 이해를 높이고 상호경제에 대한 지식, 태도의 발달을 도울 수 있어야 한다. 특히 초등학교 학생들의 경제개념 인식은 이론적 논리적 접근 이전에 경험적 인식의 영향을 동시에 받고 있다. 따라서 초등학교 경제교육은 일상생활로부터 아동들에게 의미 있게 구성되어야 한다. 개인적, 사회적 관계의 동시적 고려를 통한 경제 원리의 이해는 경제적 문제 상황을 합리적으로 사고하고 판단할 수 있도록 돕고, 상황에 따른 의사결정의 변화를 가능하게 함으로써 오히려 올바른 경제 개념을 형성할 수 있게 된다. 본 연구에서는 경제적 선택과 의사결정에 있어서 가치탐구를 활용하여 사적 이익과 함께 사회적 이익을 동시에 고려할 수 있는 경제교육을 제안하고 있다. 이러한 제안은 개인의 경제적 선택이 나의 이익뿐 아니라 사회 안에 더불어 살아가는 사회 구성원의 한 일원으로써 서로 돕고 나누고 협력하며 살아갈 수 있는 경제 가치에 대해 탐구해 가는 과정을 구성하였다. 이를 위해 경제교육과 관련된 초등학교 교육과정과 교과서를 분석하고 사회적 가치를 포함할 수 있도록 학습내용을 재구성 하였다. 재구성된 경제학습내용을 토대로 사회적 가치를 포함하는 경제수업 준비과정으로서의 수업계획을 제안하였다.
