First, this study re-visits the domestic and foreign previous research about long-lasting companies and re-arrange key success factors of firms’ longevity. Especially, firms in Gangwon, which area is relatively less focused from both managerial and academic fields, have been analyzed, so findings in literature reviews are reconstructed based suggestions for local companies. Through history of enterprise and business, firms should purse both profitability and sustainability. In order to achieve these missions, firms should build core competence, conservative financial strategy and long-term CEO succession strategy. Furthermore, firms need to harmonize with community and society and utilize regional unique characteristics.

본 연구는 먼저 기존의 국내외 장수기업에 대한 연구결과를 재고찰하여 성공요인을 정리하였다. 특히, 상대적으로 기업과 학계에서 소외된 강원지역의 기업경영에 대한 조사를 추가하여 향토기업이 주축을 이루고 있는 지역의 기업이 도입 가능한 요인을 기존문헌을 기반으로 재구성하였다. 기업과 경영의 역사를 살펴보면 기업 경영은 수익성뿐만 아니라 지속성도 동시에 추구하여야함을 알 수 있으며, 이를 위하여서는 일차적으로 핵심역량을 갖추고 보수적 재무전략과 장기적 관점에서의 경영승계 전략도 필요하다. 마지막으로 기업이 속한 사회와 공동체와의 조화 및 지역의 특성도 반드시 고려해야할 요인임을 알 수 있다.
