This study analyzed the factors of charitable bequest intention, types and decision influences of the elderly people. The data of National Survey on Giving Consciousness in 2010, which was done by the Beautiful Foundation from 1,000 persons, was used and 245 persons aged older than and equal to 55 years among them were selected and analyzed. The independent variables were giver's latent factors(religion, trust degree for society organization, happiness degree for present life), giving motivation factors(internal, external), consideration factors for giving(trustworthiness and reputation of organization to manage charitable bequest, the effect degree on society betterment) and giving experiences(school education and giving frequencies, witness of parents's giving, yearly giving amount), and the dependent variable was charitable bequest intention. The logistic regression was used to analyze the relation. The analysis result was that the religion among the giver's latent factors effected on the difference of charitable bequest intention, which was statistically significant. In addition, the catholic elderly persons had lower intention for charitable bequest than the non-religion persons, and there was statistically insignificance in charitable bequest intention to the Christian elderly. Among the consideration factors for giving, the trustworthiness of organization was statistically significant in charitable bequest intention. Meanwhile, giving motivation and experiences factors had not statistically significance. This study suggested in the point view of church social work that churches needed to try to have the charitable bequest intention of the Christian elderly heightened, and first of all, it is required to make church expenditures record of offering and giving money public
transparently in order to draw more charitable bequest through churches.

본 연구는 고령자들의 유산기부 의향과 기부 형태, 그리고 유산기부에 미치는 영향요인 등을 탐색하고 분석하였다. 아름다운재단이 전국 성인남녀 1,000명을 대상으로 2010년도에 조사한「기부에 대한 국민의식조사」데이터를 사용하였으며, 55세 이상 고령자 245명을 분석대상으로 하였다. 독립변수로는 기부주체 잠재요인(종교, 사회 기관에 대한 신뢰, 현재 삶의 행복지수), 기부동기요인(내적, 외적), 기부시 고려요인(기부관리 기관의 신뢰도 및 명성, 사회개선효과), 및 나눔경험요인(학생 때 교육받은 경험, 학생 때 부모기부 목격, 학생 때 본인기부 경험, 지난 1년 기부실천액)을 설정하였으며, 유산기부 의향을 종속변수로 설정하고 로지스틱 회귀분석을 사용하여 영향정도를 살펴보았다. 분석결과 기부주체 잠재요인 중에서는 종교구분에 따라 유산기부 의향에 차이가 있었다. 또한 종교요인은 유산기부 의향에 통계적으로 유의한 영향을 미치고 있는 것으로 나타났는데, 종교 없는 고령자들이 천주교 고령자에 비해 유산기부 의향을 가질 가능성이 더 높았으며, 기독교(개신교)고령자와는 통계적인 영향관계가 없는 것으로 나타났다. 기부시 고려요인 중에서는 기부관리 기관에 대한 신뢰도, 즉 기관의 투명성이 유산기부 의향에 통계적으로 유의한 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 반면에 기부동기요인과 나눔경험요인은 통계적으로 유의한 영향을 미치지 않는 것으로 나타났다. 본 연구 결과를 통해 교회사회사업적 측면에서 기독교(개신교)고령자들의 유산기부 의향 향상을 위해 교회가 노력해야 할 필요가 있으며, 교회를 통한 유산기부 확대를 위해서는 헌금 및 기부금 사용에 관한 내역을 공개하는 등 운영의 투명성을 확보하는 일이 시급함을 알 수 있었다.
