This study attempted to delineate the identity of the Church Social Work as a discipline and to review the research trend between the years of 2003-2012 in Korea. In order to accomplish these tasks, a total of 117 articles published in the Church Social Work was categorized and then analyzed by researcher's trends, the methodological aspects and their subjects. As a result, several research trends in this field were discovered. The summary of the study is as follows: When it comes to the subject of study, disable people and mental-health accounted for the largest amount in articles. As major of social welfare accounted for the largest ratio of total researchers, while few independent researches were conducted by theology. As time goes by, there is a variety of subjects in church social welfare.

본 연구는 교회사회복지와 관련된 연구들의 내용분석을 통해 연구동향을 파악한 후, 그 결과를 토대로 앞으로 교회사회복지의 발전방향에 대해 제언하는 것을 목적으로 하고 있다. 이를 위해 교회사회복지 연구를 목적으로 하는 등재지 및 등재후보지에 실린 논문을 대상으로 연구자 동향, 연구방법, 연구주제를 살펴보았다. 연구결과, 다른 사회복지실천 영역에 비해 정신건강, 장애인 관련 연구의 비중이 큰 것으로 나타났으며, 실증연구에 비해 문헌연구의 비율이 높게 분석되었다. 최종학위를 기준으로 연구자의 전공을 판단했을 때 연구자의 대부분이 사회복지전공자인 것으로 파악되었으며 시간이 지날수록 교회사회복지와 관련된 연구주제들이 다양해지고 있는 것을 알 수 있었다.
