The diplomatic relation between Ming Dynasty of China and Chosun Dynasty of Korea was based on the rules of Confucianism rituals. Through such rituals, the leading role of Ming Dynasty was maintained on the Korea Peninsula and the stabilized political pattern could be achieved in East Asia. Following the principle of "Serving Big Power with Rituals" in its foreign policy, Chosun Dynasty of Korea also managed to maintain a peaceful and stable diplomatic relation with Ming Dynasty by rituals, so as to guarantee its own political interests. In the 16th of Jia jing's Reign, a mission led by Gong- Yongqing made a series of diplomatic contacts with Chosun Dynasty, reflecting above-mentioned characteristics of ancient East Asia. Therefore the diplomatic relation based on Confucianism rituals played a very important role in maintenance of Ming Dynasty's leading role in the Korea Peninsula.
