Novel hollow microneedle for innocuous intraocular drug delivery

초록

영어

Innocuous Intraocular drug delivery has been challenge to pharmaceutical researchers in the past two decades because eye was covered by independent protecting systems such as retina blood barrier (RBB), sclera and cornea.[1] Most trials to overcome ocular own defending system have not been competent treat except intraocular injection via hypodermic needles.[2] Although hypodermic needle have been used as intraocular drug deliver, it can cause serious surgical trauma including hemorrhages.[1] We propose fabrication method of novel hollow microneedle for innocuous intraocular drug delivery using reverse drawing lithography. Novel hollow microneedle can be long enough to penetrate into the ocular layers as well as sclera and it has got the outer diameter of about hundred micrometers. Beveled tip was adopted for reducing the insertion force in intraocular injection. Novel hollow microneedle can reduce damage and may expedite tissue recover.
