A Curcuma longa Linne leaf was extracted by water at 60℃ for 12 hours after being treated under 500 MPa for 5-15 minute. Extraction yield was increased up to 5∼7% by high pressure extraction process, compare to conventional water extraction as 18.3% (w/w). The cytotoxicity of the extracts was showed in the range of 11.2∼15.6% in adding 1.0 mg/ml for the human fibroblast cell (CCD-986sk). The high pressure extraction for 15 minute (HPE15) was showed the lowest cytotoxicity 11.2%. The HPE15 extracts also showed the highest inhibition of hyaluronidase as 42.12% in adding 1.0 mg/ml of the highest concentration. The secretion of NO− from macrophages was estimated as 6.72 μM in adding 1.0 mg/ml of HPE15, which was lower than the those from other processes. The HPE15 extracts significantly reduced dawn to 798 pg/ml of Prostaglandin E2 production from UV-induced in CCD-986sk cell. It can be concluded that Curcuma longa Linne leaf has skin immune activities and The high pressure extraction process could increase higher skin immune activities possibly by high elution of active components than other processes.
