The South-Han river flows gently but it meanders quiet strongly its basin. This allows to be located many dwelling sites from the Paleolithic period to modern time. In this paper, we will focus on the Suyanggae site where numerous Three-Han Period houses were unearthed We will discuss about the development of houses of Suyanggae site and then we compare their characteristics with those of other sites in the South-Han river basin and it would permit to characterize the features of dwelling style and to understand the chronological development in this region.

남한강유역은 물의 흐름이 완만하고 강굽이가 발달하여 구석기시대에서 근대에 이르는 수많은 유적이 발견·조사되고 있다. 이글에서는 현재까지 조사된 남한강유역 삼한시대 주거유적 중 가장 많은 집터가 조사된 단양 수양개유적의 집터의 특징과 전개과정을 살펴보고 이를 중심으로 주변 유적과의 비교를 통하여 남한강유역 삼한시대 집터의 특징과 시간적 흐름에 따른 변화양상을 파악하고자 하였다.
