Production of 2,3-Butanediol by NAD+/NADH Ratio Change

초록

영어

Generally speaking in a cell metabolism, higher ratio of NAD+/NADH means more active metabolic condition because NADH is rapidly consumed in several metabolic reactions. Also, when acetoin becomes 2,3-butanediol, NADH turns to NAD+ in the reaction. Since this reaction was added to E. coli W3110 wild type, the mutant’s NAD+/NADH ratio would have higher value than it’s wild type’s, and it turned out to be true.
