Process Simulation for Production of Biodiesel and Value-added Chemical

초록

영어

Biodiesel production processes were designed with different three cases using SuperPro designer program. Biodiesel and glycerol could be made from reaction of soybean oil and methanol. The reaction can be performed by chemical process using commercial chemical catalyst and biological process using immobilized enzyme. Both two processes were designed and evaluated in this study. To change waste glycerol to value-added chemical, a hybrid process was designed. This process consisted of catalytic biodiesel production process and enzymatic glycerol carbonate production process. Finally, the economics and productivity of these processes were evaluated to check economic feasibility.
