Although microalgae are strong candidate as the source of next generation biofuels, their lipid biosynthesis mechanism is no fully understood. Synechocystis is the most well-known model algal species and one of the candidates for the production of biofuels due to their small genome and available genetic tools. However the transcriptome research in Synechocystis on lipid biosynthesis is very limited. Here we show the global gene expression pattern changes in different light and temperature conditions which are known related to the biomass production in Synechocystis1,2 to analyze gene involved in the lipid biosynthetic pathway based on the transcriptome sequencing data and the TSS sequencing data. This study will provide better understanding about lipid biosynthesis pathway in Synechocystis and can suggest gene targets to further engineering for biofuels.
