As two big countries in East-Asia, China and Korea have kept good economic cooperation since 1992, the year they established diplomatic relation. Saemangeum Project is one of the most costly national projects, which started in November 1989. This project is not only good for balanced development of areas in Korea and Korea’s economic growth, but also brought new opportunities for Sino-Korea economic cooperation. The development of Saemangeum brought new opportunities for China and Korea economic cooperation in many ways.
The new opportunities are not only in the areas of investment, logistics, tourism and leisure, but also in the areas of new energy developing and agriculture. China and Korea should seize these rare opportunities, and promote Sino-Korea economic cooperation into a higher level in the principle of common development and mutual benefit.

중국경제는 개혁개방 34년 이래 연평균 약10%의 속도로 급성장하여 이미 미국에 이어 세계2위의 경제대국이 되었다. 개방적이고 급성장하는 중국은 세계각국과 경제교류 협력의 많은 기회를 제공하고 있다. 한국의 새만금 개발사업은 거대한 투자가 수반되는 국책사업이다. 새만금사업의 발전은 한국의 지역균형발전과 경제성장에 좋은 계기가 될 뿐 아니라, 중한 양국의 경제협력에도 새로운 기회를 가져올 것이다. 새만금 개발이 중한 양국 경제협력에 가져다 줄 새로운 기회는 투자, 물류, 관광레저, 그리고 신재생에너지, 농업 등 다양한 영역에서 나타날 것이다. 중한 양국이 이 새로운 기회를 통해, 호혜와 공동발전의 원칙 아래에서 중한 양국의 경제협력을 더 높은 단계로 이끌어 나가야 할 것이다.
