The purpose of this study was to analyze the early childhood pre-service teacher’s utilization and recognition of the arts-science integrated program. The survey was completed by 298 early childhood pre-service teachers in a university located in Seoul and GyeongGi-do. The results show that early childhood pre-service teachers recognized the importance and effects of the arts-science integrated program. However, they having experienced difficulties acquiring knowledge and contents for teaching activities. The results of this study show that the arts-science integrated program of early childhood education should be developed and early childhood pre-service teacher development is needed.

본 연구는 예비유아교사를 대상으로 예술과 통합한 유아과학교육에 대한 경험 실태와 인식을 분석하기 위해 실시되었다. 연구의 목적을 위해 서울, 경기 지역에 위치한 3-4년제 대학의 유아교육과 예비교사 298명을 대상으로 설문지를 배부하고 회수하여 분석하였다. 분석 결과, 예비유아교사들은 예술과 통합한 유아과학교육이 유아에게 필요하고 효과적이라는 것은 인식하고 있었으나, 실제적 교수활동을 위한 지식과 내용 습득에 있어서는 경험 부족으로 인하여 어려움을 느끼고 있는 것으로 나타났다. 본 연구 결과를 통해 예비유아교사가 시대의 흐름에 맞춘 유아과학교육의 새로운 방안으로 예술과 통합한 유아과학교육을 경험할 수 있도록 교사교육이 이루어지고 실제 프로그램의 개발과 보급으로 유아교육 현장적용이 가능할 수 있도록 해야 함을 논의하고 있다.
