This study aimed to examine the protective and risk factors of adolescents’ adjustment after parental divorce. Three Korean adolescents whose parents divorced or separated were interviewed. Protective and risk factors relevant to resilience and adjustment of each case were analyzed in personal, familial, and other aspects. Common findings of the cases were discussed in relation to Korean culture and previous studies. The importance of understanding both risk and protective factors of resilience for teachers and counselors in order to help Korean adolescents adjust during and after parental divorce was emphasized.

본 연구는 한국이혼가족 청소년들의 심리적 탄력성 관련요인을 탐색하기 위해 부모이혼 혹은 별거후 1년에서 4년이 경과한 청소년 3명을 면접한 결과를 분석하였다. 각 사례별로 적응의 위험요인과 보호요인을 개인적·가족적·가족외적 요인으로 구분하여 분석한 후, 세 사례에서 공통적으로 나타난 점을 한국사회의 가족문화와 관련하여 논의하였다. 이혼가족자녀의 적응과 발달을 돕기 위해 적응관련 위험요인과 보호요인을 함께 탐색해야 할 필요성을 논의하였다.
