Recently, researches using smart devices have being carried out in the various field, and interest of conference system using smart devices is increasing. The multipoint conference systems using heterogeneous tablet PCs in local area environment are expected to be one of the leading applications using smart devices. In this paper, we introduce a local area conference system which is implemented using table PCs, and is called on Tab-ference. Tabference is new word to combine with tablet PC and conference, and tabference is to proceed the conference with participant's tablet PC. The system consists of a server to be used to manage the conference, a master to be used to create and progress the conference, and a slave to be used to join the conference. The system has the various capabilities for a conference between heterogeneous tablet PCs. Efficient conference in a local area can be operated with these capabilities.

최근 스마트 기기들을 이용하여 다양한 분야에서 연구가 이루어지고 있는 가운데 스마트 기기를 이용한 회의 시스템에 대한 관심이 고조되고 있다. 이기종 테블릿 PC를 이용한 동일 공간에서의 다자간 컨퍼런스 시스템은 스마트 기기를 사용한 선도 어플리케이션 중의 하나로 기대된다. 본 논문에서는 테블릿 PC에서 구현 된 동일 공간에서의 컨퍼런스 시스템인 탭퍼런스를 제안한다. 탭퍼런스는 태블릿 PC’와 컨퍼런스’를 조합한 신조어로 모든 참가자들이 태블릿 PC를 가지고 회의를 진행하는 것이다. 본 시스템은 컨퍼런스를 관리하는 서버와 컨퍼런스를 만들고 진행하는 마스터, 컨퍼런스에 참가하는 슬레이브로 구성되어 있다. 또한 이기종 태블릿 PC사이의 컨퍼런스를 위한 다양한 기능들을 가지고 있다. 이러한 기능들을 통해 동일 공간에서의 효과적인 컨퍼런스를 운영할 수 있다.
