The purpose of this stydy was to examine the relationship among parental attachment, social anxiety, and stress coping behavior. Also, in this study, it was examined whether stress coping behavior mediated the relationship between parental attachment and social anxiety. 280 elementary school students were sampled for this study. For data analysis, reliability analysis, correlation among, variables, analysis of path model were conducted. The results of this study were as follows. First, Aggressive ways of coping and attachment to parents passive avoidant coping strategies and ways of coping with the negative correlation between the active coping strategies and social support pursuit of correlations. Second, Was a significant negative correlation between social anxiety and the child's attachment to parents. Third, Social anxiety and negative correlation, the pursuit of the social support coping strategies coping was not correlated with social anxiety, aggressive and passive avoidant coping strategies coping behavior, social anxiety correlated with the relationship was. Fourth, a result of examining the mediating effects of stress-coping behaviors in the relationship between parent attachment and social anxiety, passive avoidant coping behaviors appeared to have a mediating effect on the relationship between parent attachment and social anxiety. Suggestions for future research, the limitation of this study, and the implications were discussed.

본 연구는 초등학교 고학년 아동의 부모애착이 사회불안에 미치는 영향에 대한 스트레스 대처 행동의 매개 효과를 검증하는데 목적이 있다. 수원시 소재 초등학교 6학년 아동 280명을 대상으로 아동의 부모애착 척도, 스트레스 대처행동 척도, 한국판 아동․청소년용 사회불안 척도를 실시하였다. 자료 분석을 위해서 SPSS 15.0 통계프로그램을 사용하였고 연구 대상의 일반적 특성을 알아보기 위해 빈도와 백분율을 산출하였으며, 각 변인의 관계를 알아보기 위해 상관분석과 단순회귀분석을 실시하였다. 또한 부모애착과 사회불안과의 관계에서 스트레스 대처행동의 매개효과를 알아보기 위하여 Baron과 Kenny(1986)가 제안한 매개효과 검증절차를 사용하였다. 본 연구의 결과를 요약하면 다음과 같다. 첫째, 부모애착과 스트레스 대처행동 간에 상관관계를 분석한 결과 부모애착은 공격적 대처방식과 소극 회피적 대처방식과는 부적상관을 보이며, 적극적 대처방식과 사회지지 추구적 대처방식과는 정적상관을 보이는 것으로 나타났다. 둘째, 부모애착과 사회불안과의 관계를 살펴본 결과, 아동의 부모애착은 사회불안과 유의미한 부적상관을 보이는 것으로 나타났다. 셋째, 아동의 스트레스 대처행동과 사회불안의 관계를 살펴보면 적극적 대처방식은 사회불안과 부적 상관관계를, 사회지지 추구적 대처방식은 사회불안과 상관을 보이지 않았으며 공격적 대처방식과 소극 회피적 대처행동은 사회불안과 정적상관 관계를 보였다. 넷째, 부모애착과 사회불안의 관계에서 스트레스 대처행동의 매개효과를 살펴본 결과, 소극 회피적 대처행동은 부모애착과 사회불안의 관계에서 매개효과를 갖는 것으로 나타났다. 이상의 결과를 바탕으로 본 연구의 의의와 제한점을 논의하였다.
