A Comparative Study on the Program Needs between Users and Providers in Community Children Centers

The aim of this study is to compare program needs and examine factors affecting program needs and satisfaction among users and program needs among providers in community children centers. The programs in the community children center are composed of 30 programs in the areas of education, culture, emotion, welfare, and special activities. A total of 148 children and 143 staff were surveyed and analyzed for this study. Main results are first, program needs for education in the provider group was higher than the user group but program needs for special activities in the user group was higher than the provider group. Second, users who were female children and resided in multi-household housing reported higher program needs. Third, users who had more frequently utilized community centers reported higher program satisfaction. Forth, providers who were younger and had social work licenses reported higher program needs. Suggestions were made in practical strategies for the community children centers.
