In general, articulation programs between early childhood education and elementary education are discussed in terms of institution, curriculum, educational method and educational environments. Among those relevant elements, curriculum articulation between kindergarten and elementary school is viewed as the most vital issue that needs down-to-earth approach, since that could naturally lead to a successful link of educational method and environments. Besides, children could benefit from well-connected education. The purpose of this study was to examine what teachers expected from articulation programs in a bid to present workable reform measures and suggest how kindergarten curriculum could be well connected to that of elementary school.

일반적으로 유아교육과 초등교육과의 연계를 논의할 때 채택되는 근거는 제도적 측면, 교육과정 측면, 교육방법 측면 및 교육환경 측면이다.연계교육에 논의되는 여러 가지 요소 중에서도 유치원과 초등학교와의 교육과정 연계에 대한 부분은 가장 중요하고 현실적인 문제로 대두되고 있는데, 이는 교육과정 측면에서 연계가 이루어질 때 교육방법, 교육환경 측면은 자연스럽게 연계가 이루어질 수 있고, 아동이 직접 연계교육에 따른 혜택을 받을 수 있기 때문이다.이에, 본 연구에서는 현행 두 교육 기관간의 교육과정 연계를 위하여, 일선 교원들의 연계교육에 대한 요구를 분석함으로써 향후 개선방안에 대한 시사점을 도출하고 이러한 분석을 토대로 유치원과 초등학교와의 교육과정 연계방안을 마련하는 데 이 연구의 목적이 있다.
