The purpose of this study is to find out the characteristics of multiple intelligences of the gifted students. Research questions were as follows. Which intelligences are higher than others? Are there any differences of multiple intelligences between gifted students and ordinary students, and between female gifted students and male gifted students, and between before and after gifted education? The subjects are 88 gifted students and 111 ordinary students. Intrapersonal intelligence was the highest one for the gifted students. Gifted students showed most of the intelligences were higher than the ones of ordinary students, At first, female gifted students showed lower marks of most of the intelligences, but later they were vice versa.

본 연구의 목적은 초등 영재학생들의 다중지능 특성을 알아보고자 실시되었다. 초등 영재학생들은 어떤 지 능이 높게 나오고 낮게 나오는지, 성별로 다른 특성을 보이는지, 일반학생들의 다중지능 특성과는 차이가 있는지, 그리고 영재교육을 받은 후에 변화가 나타나는지 파악하고자 연구문제가 설정되었고 이를 위해 일반학생 111명과 영재학생 88명을 대상으로 다중지능 검사를 실시하였다. 영재학생에게 나타난 다중지능 특성을 파악하고, 영재 학생과 일반학생의 측정 결과와 영재교육 전후에 실시한 검사결과를 비교하였다. 영재학생은 자기이해 지능이 높 은 편으로 나타났고 일반학생들의 다중지능 검사결과보다 거의 모든 영역에서 높은 점수를 보여주었다. 영재교육 초기에는 남학생들이 높은 점수를 나타내는 영역이 다수였으나, 영재교육 후기에는 여학생들이 대부분의 영역에서 남학생보다 높은 점수를 나타냈다.
