The study tried to improve the understanding of compensation through the critical consideration of basic assumptions related to compensation. Compensation is not a estimation on gain of first move of the black but a consensus of fairness of game. Even if you play go with a correct compensation, the strike rate of the black may not converge to 50%. We need the perfect level of strength to know the correct compensation. It is proved via reduction to absurdity that correct compensation should not include half a point.

본 연구에서는 덤과 관련한 기본적 가정에 대한 비판적 고찰을 통해서 덤에 대한 이해의 지 평을 넓히고자 하였다. 덤은 흑의 선착의 이익에 대한 추정이 아니라 공정성에 대한 합의 일 뿐이고, 정확한 덤을 갖고 대국을 한다고 하더라도 흑의 승률이 50%에 수렴하지 않을 수 있음 을 논의하였다. 또한 정확한 덤을 알기 위해서는 대국자의 완전한 기력이 요구되기 때문에 현 재로서는 정확한 덤을 알 수는 없음을 밝혔다. 정확한 덤을 알지 못한다고 하더라도 합의에 의 해서 대국은 충분히 가능하다. 또한 덤에 포함된 반집은 귀류법의 논증을 통해서 정확한 덤에 는 포함되어서는 않된다는 점을 지적하였다.
