Korea's exports to China that have been growing at a rapid rate after the normalization of relations in 1992, but started to show signs of change in recent years. The growth rate of Korea's exports to China has slowed down, the items traded are changing. That is because the division of labor that existed between Korea and China is moving towards a new direction due to China's industrial structure improvement. Due to the improvement of China's industrial, "Low value-added areas belong to China, high value-added areas belong to Korea" is no longer useful Hence this paper reviews China's industrial structure development by seeking a changing in China's industrial Smile Curve. In the future, a complex division of labor based on technology and competitive advantage will be created and Korea will focus on a horizontal division of labor based on high value creating industries.

1992년 수교 이래 한중간 교역은 빠르게 증가하였으나 최근 수년간 변화의 조짐이 본격화되고 있다. 한국의 대중국 수출이 둔화되고 있으며 양국간 무역 품목도 빠르게 변화하고 있다. 이는 중국의 산업고도화로 인해 양국간 분업구조가 변화했기 때문이다. 중국의 산업고도화로 ‘고부가가치 영역은 한국, 저부가가치 영역은 중국’이라는 기존의 분업체계는 더 이상 유용하지 않게 되었다. 이에 따라 본 논문은 스마일커브 등을 활용하여 중국산업의 고도화를 유형별로 분석하였다. 분석결과에 따르면 중국의 산업고도화로 인해 향후 한·중간에는 기술격차, 경쟁력 수준에 따른 복잡한 분업체제가 구축될 것이며 한국은 이에 대응하여 고부가가치화를 통한 수평적 분업체제 구축에 주력해야 할 것이다.
