This study is to find the difficulties of beginning teachers to private kindergartens and to seek necessary contents and methods for educating beginning teachers. To this end, in-depth interview was performed for six experienced and beginning teachers of private kindergarten in Seoul and Gyeonggi-do. As a result, beginning teachers have difficulties due to absence of consultants, lack of confidence and the stress from the relationship with parents and co-workers. In addition, for education contents, It is found that the cognition change which connects the theory and the actual life, behavior change through voluntary participation for role sharing and performance with co-workers and curriculum and actual understanding of philosophy regarding kindergarten they are working for, are required. For the demand of education methods, education time securing the weekend off for teachers, appropriate amount of education and direct teaching method are shown to be necessary for beginning teachers. This study is expected to help understanding beginning teachers and become a basic data for developing programs for future beginning teachers.

본 연구는 사립유치원 초임교사의 어려움을 알아보고, 초임교사교육에 필요한 내용 및 방법에 대해 알아보고 자 하였다. 이를 위해서 서울 및 경기지역에 소재한 사립유치원 경력, 초임교사 6명을 대상으로 심층면담 하였 다. 그 결과 초임교사는 안내자의 부재, 자신감 부족, 학부모와 동료교사와의 관계에서 오는 스트레스로 인해 어려움을 겪고 있는 것으로 나타났다. 또한 교육내용의 요구에 있어서도 이론과 실제를 연결지어볼 수 있는 사 고의 변화, 동료교사와의 역할분담과 수행에 있어서의 자발적 참여등을 통한 태도의 변화, 근무하는 유치원에 대한 교육과정 및 철학의 실질적 이해가 필요한 것으로 나타났다. 교육방법의 요구에 있어서도 주말이 보장된 교사교육 시간, 적절한 교육량, 직접적인 교수방법이 초임교사들에게 필요한 방법으로 나타났다. 본 연구는 초 임교사에 대한 이해를 높이고 향후 초임교사를 위한 초임교사교육 프로그램 개발의 기초자료가 될 수 있을 것 으로 본다.
