The purpose of this study was to clearly verify the root of matters of korea professional baseball based on various factors involved in the foundation backgrounds. The foundation plans and backgrounds were investigated based on the facts as follows. Results of this study were as follows. First, It was uncertain that the foundation plan for the professional baseball was mainly made by Korea professional baseball committee, or people in the baseball sector. There was political involvement and relation to the foundation. The fifth republic gained power by a military coup used the foundation of professional baseball which was attractive and a easy way to justify the government. Based on this background, finally professional baseball of Korea started on December, 11th, 1982 based on official document by minister of education on November, 6th, 1982 and approval by president Chun. Opening game took place in March, 7th, 1983. Professional baseball is 30th anniversary and the period of young adult.

이 연구는 한국 프로야구의 창립배경과 성립과정에 나타난 요인들을 살펴본 후, 그 근원적 사실을 밝히는데 있으며, 이에 따른 결어는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 한국프로야구의 창립계획은 1981년 당시 한국프로야구위원회, 또는 국민이 주체가 아닌 정치적 개입에 의한 것이었음을 각종 공문서 및 구술 자료를 통해 알 수 있다. 즉 한국프로야구의 창립은 체제유지와 국민화합이라는 목적 하에 만들어진 정치적 선택이었다. 한국프로야구창립은 문교부 공문서의 내용을 토대로 대통령 전두환의 결재를 받아, 공식적으로 1981년 12월11일 창립한다. 둘째, 추진배경과 성립 시기는 1981년 5월부터 11월까지의 과정으로서 기초조사, 자료수집, 기관의 의견청취 및 협의, 어려움에도 불구하고 구단주와 기업체를 물색하였으며, 최종 회의를 거쳐 성립되었다.
