A study on life history of a judo expert, Nam Han Kim, the following results were obtained employing perspectives of sports anthropology as a way of revealing the process he an individual lived as a judo player after the Korean War: First, he first begin to do judo and wanted to live as a player continuously being attracted by judo he himself selected in his life but he came to drop out of high school in rapidly changing social situations in modern times. But in the process of reentering school, he was selected as a scholarship student with his judo career. Second, in relation to his judge activity and leader‘ life, the participant came to begin the second judo lie as his judge activity and he was very proud of passing a nationwide judge examination as a graduate from high school, and he came to achieve fame as a leader. Third, concerning his hardship and pains, the participant expressed his opinion that he was sorry about the fact that he was excluded from the power because he was not from judo school. And finally, running a business associated with judo, he still carefully watches his juniors grow and does not leave judo stadiums. In this sense, the participant is a true judo expert who is to be focused on.

유도인 김남한의 생애사 연구는 한국전쟁 이후 개인이 유도인으로 살아온 과정을 드러내기 위한 방법이다. 스포츠인류학적 관점을 동원하여 다음과 같은 결과를 얻을 수 있었다. 첫째, 유도의 입문과 삶에 대해서 참여자 스스로 선택한 유도의 매력에 지속적인 선수생활을 하고 싶었으나 사회적 격변기에 고등학교를 자퇴하게 되었고 재입학 하는 과정에서 유도 경력으로 장학생에 선발되었다. 둘째, 심판활동과 지도자의 삶에 대해서 참여자는 심판활동으로 제 2의 유도인생을 시작하게 된 계기는 전국심판 시험에서 고등학교 출신자로 당당하게 합격했다는 자부심이 컸으며, 지도자로 명성을 얻게 되었다. 셋째, 시련과 아픔에 대해서 참여자는 권력으로부터 배제 되었던 이유는 유도학교 출신이 아니었다는 것이 아쉬움이라고 표현했다. 마지막으로 유도와 관련된 사업체를 운영하면서 지금도 후배들의 성장을 지켜보면서 유도경기장을 떠나지 않는 참여자는 조명되어야 할 진정한 유도인이라고 할 것이다.
