The aim of this paper is suggesting new methodology focusing in aspects of discourse in historical texts. Aspects of discourse suggested in this paper are 1)whether texts are narratives or not, 2)whether the speech is dialogue or not, 3) to whom and from whom the dialogue is attended, 4)whether the mode of dialogue is friendly speaking or hierarchical. It is selected for the data of analysis Yeollyeo-chunhyang-shyujyeolga, which is the most famous classical korean novel, so can be the representative of that genre. This paper tests this text by four criteria as has been suggested in two methods. Firstly, all the words in the texts are tested from the standpoint of speaker/listener. Secondly, all the morphemes in the texts are tested from two standpoints of discourse elements - that is the degree of word complexity and the frequency of morpheme - by four discourse criteria. As a results, the methodology suggested in this paper can make survey the historical data not with absolute correlation but with relative correlation. Or the historical data can be viewed as linguistically consistent by discourse-focused analytic methodology or by combinatory analytic methodology of discourse element.

이 논문은 완판 84장본 『열여춘향슈졀가』를 대상으로 담화 요인 주석과 형태소 분석을 통하여 국어사 문헌 자료를 종합적으로 검토하는 방법론적 시안을 마련하는 데 연구의 목표가 있다. 본 연구는 국어사 문헌 자료의 질적 특성을 감안한 연구, 전자 주석을 통한 계량적 연구, 방법론적 시안을 마련하기 위한 연구의 특성을 갖는다. 본 연구에서는 크게 다음 네 가지 변인을 검토하고, 이를 연구에 반영하 고자 하였다. (1) 『열여춘향슈졀가』는 구연을 전제한 담화 특성이 잘 반영된 문헌이다. (2) 문헌 텍스트가 반영하는 담화 장면에 따라 ‘서술 담화 여부’, ‘대화 여부’, ‘친소/위계 대화 여부’를 ‘화자/청자’를 반영하여 담화를 분석한다. (3) 계량의 측면은 종합적으로 어절 복잡도와 형태소의 분포를 담화 장면별로 감안하여 분석한다. 이와 같은 연구 방법론을 적용하여 볼 때, 개별 담화 요인은 그 자체로 절대적인 상관관계를 보이지는 않는다. 그러나 담화 요인은 어절 복잡도나 형태소 빈도와 같은 언어 현상에 대하여 상대적으로 상관관계를 비교적 일관되게 가짐을 확인해 주었다.
