The thesis starts from the research on the digital prints shown in the Posco Museum in 2012. Scanned images would express both material and informational properties of the original source at the same time. In particular, throughout the process of transforming folded papers into digital images, folded shapes could reminds us of the material property of paper and the informational one of the mountain ranges, which relate to the topographical map in which each standard points are connected with each other then creates a certain structure of a mesh. In the digital artmaking process, new kinds of space would be analyzed by stacking the scanned images of polygon shapes of wood repetitively. The objects of polygon shapes are shifted into the sphere shapes which are totally recreated images far from the original objects. In the digital print, , paper folding and earth-like images are synthesized on topological dimensions. in which the mixture of different kinds of world spaces would be the formation of a total world.

본 논문은 2012년 포스코미술관에서의 개인전 출품작 중 디지털 프린트 작업을 중심으로 하여 구성되었 다. 스캐닝한 이미지는 물성과 정보적 속성을 동시에 표출할 수 있다. 특히 구긴 종이를 디지털이미지로 전환하였을 때 구겨진 형태는 종이의 물질적 속성과 산맥의 모습을 연상시킨다. 연상과 유사성의 작용을 통해 산맥은 지형도의 이미지와 연결되며 정보체계로 이루어진 디지털 맵과 같이 각각의 기준점들이 서로 연결되어있는 구조를 띤다. 구체적인 작품창작의 단계에서는 다각형의 나무 오브제 판을 스캔한 이미지를 반복적으로 겹침으로써 만들어지는 새로운 공간에 대해 분석한다. 오브제 판 이미지는 지구라는 기호적 측면과 나뭇결의 반복적 쌓기를 통해 구 형태로 변환되며 그것은 애초의 원본이미지로부터 독립적인 전혀 새로운 이미지가 된다. 최종적으로 종이구기기와 지구 오브제 판이 종합된 작품에서는 위상학적 차원에서 새로운 총체적 세계의 공간이 창조된다.
