For the production of effective movining images or films, the development of effective characters is of prime factor. In which case, where do these effective characters originate from. While it is possible to differentiate those formative characters used primarily for marketing, the characters emanating from story telling are becoming increasingly ever more popular. Thus, it naturally follows that for characters to effectively evolve and develop within the storyline, the story itself must encompass strong and creative characters. The structure of a story would consist of various elements other than characters, such as incidents, backgrounds etc. and plot would evolve around the conflict between the main character, and it's antagonist, events unfolding, agonistic climax and finale. In conclusion, the development of effective characters can only derive from a premise of solid and well woven plot. Therefore, the possibility for the development of effective characters lie the genre of story telling.

효과적인 영상물을 만들기 위해서는 효과적인 캐릭터가 개발되어야한다. 그렇다면 효과적인 캐릭터는 어 디서 오는가. 캐릭터를 크게 기업 마케팅을 위한 조형기반 캐릭터와 엔터테인먼트를 위한 스토리 기반 캐릭터로 나누어 볼 때 갈수록 스토리 기반 캐릭터의 대중적 인기가 갈수록 높아지는 것으로 보인다. 이 는 효과적인 캐릭터를 만들어내기 위해서는 그 캐릭터가 잘 살아있는 스토리가 잘 만들어져야한다는 것을 의미한다. 스토리는 캐릭터와 사건과 배경으로 이루어진다. 사건은 주인공과 적대역 간의 갈등을 중심으로 한 발단, 전개, 위기, 절정 , 대단원으로 이루어진다. 결국 효과적인 캐릭터를 개발하기 위해서는 주인공 캐릭터의 결핍, 갈등, 딜레마, 변화라는 스토리의 핵심 요소가 서로 잘 녹아있는 스토리가 전제되어야한다. 효과적인 캐릭터 개발의 가능성은 스토리에 있다.
