This study conducted a 12-week walk program with obese women with intellectual disabilities to examine its effects on body composition and blood lipid. The following results were obtained. First, for the changes in body composition, there was a significant difference in weight and body fat in the combined exercise group, indicating a positive effect. Second, for the changes in blood lipid, while no significant difference was found in TC and HDL-C in the combined exercise group, a significant difference was found in TG and LDL-C, indicating a positive effect. Third, for the changes in leptin, the combined group had a significant difference, indicating a positive effect. Based on the findings, the combined exercise program had a positive effect on body composition in obese women with intellectual disabilities. A decrease and an increase in blood lipid suggested its positive effect on the prevention of life habit diseases such as obesity and cardiovascular disease in obese women with intellectual disabilities. The findings suggest that a variety of resistance exercises such as aerobic exercises should be added when exercise programs are applied to people with intellectual disabilities who tend to be obese because of limited physical activity and imprudent dietary habits to improve their physical ability. Although several programs have been conducted with people with disabilities for their physical activity in living facilities, it is necessary to develop appropriate measurement for them and exciting and easy programs by applying a variety of exercises to students with intellectual disabilities to achieve the development and coaching of more professional programs. Moreover, active and various researches should be conducted with people with intellectual disabilities to prevent obesity and improve health.
