This research explored what symbols were used how in Samba and the inherent significance of them, and tried to examine the role of such symbols in each event of dancesport. Also, this is research follows the previous research on symbols in Paso doble; therefore, repetitive contents on the general outlook consistent in both events were not dealt with, and only the content recognized in the form of Samba in the cultural context were grasped. The symbol of Samba is organized presupposing the transfer of significance from the creator to the audience. Therefore, they both are subject to enjoying Samba in the sense that it is a symbol made between the artist (creator) and the audience, but only with such relation involving both parties. That is, it is possible to examine the significance and form of symbol within the system of combined significance of separate fields of the fundamental elements of art, the artist (creator), artwork (dance), and the audience, and therefore explain why it functions as an important element of analysis. Based on the discussion about such symbol, the notion of symbol in Samba were illuminated. As the possibility of symbol in Samba with an artistic sense opens, the cultural and social element of Samba as art deepens.
