This study is to examine the water power that has been descended in the classics of Fengshui on the basis of Five Elements, traditional Oriental learning. In the theory of Feng shui, the flow of water is classified into 5 types, namely, Five Stars Water such as Kumsungsu(金星水), Moksungsu(木星水), Susungsu(水星水), Hwasungsu(火 星水), Tosungsu(土星水). As one of the important factors of Feng shui with mountain, water is known to be quite related to the fortunes of human being as the phrase ‘Mountain manages personnel matter and water manages fortunes’ (山管人丁 水管財物) described in the classic. Thus, this study intends to corroborate whether such a theory of Fengshui is applicable to the price of land located in the power of Five Stars Water near river and stream. Investigating the water power of Kumsungsu, Moksungsu, Hwasungsu mainly on Anyang Stream(安養川), the theory of Feng shui in the classic was corroborated to be effective in all of 3 water powers.

본 연구의 목적은 전통적 동양학문인 五行에 기초한 것으로 風水의 古典에서 전해져 오는 水勢에 관한 연구이다. 풍 수이론에서 물의 흐름을 다섯 가지로 분류하는데 이것을 五星水(金星水, 木星水, 水星水, 火星水, 土星水) 라고 한다. 물은 산과 더불어 풍수의 중요한 요소의 하나이며,「山管人丁 水管財物」이라고 고전에서 전해지는 말처럼, 사람에게는 재물과 관련성이 높다고 전하고 있다. 그래서 이러한 풍수의 이론이 강과 하천변의 오성수세에 입지하고 있는 土地의 價格에도 적용 가능한 것인지 실증하고자 하였다. 금성수, 목성수, 화성수 등 3개의 수세를 사례 대상으로 하여 안양천 을 중심으로 조사한 결과, 3개의 수세에서 모두 고전에서 전해 오는 풍수이론이 모두 유효하였음을 실증할 수 있었다.
