Experience of police officers's conflict affect an individual's mental and physical health, as well as cause a decline in the job performance and the quality of policing services. In this study, I examined the relationship between police officers‘s conflict levels and burnout and job satisfaction. And the organizational impact of conflict were discussed. The level of job internal and external conflict showed approximately 20% were experienced, 80 percent did not have experienced. The main target of job internal conflict were citizens 35.6%, colleagues 24.4%, superiors 20.0%, Subordinates 15.6%, other 4.4%. The main target of job external conflict were friends 32.5%, brothers and sisters 16.2%, children 16.2%, neighbors 13.5%, other 13.5%, spouses 8.1%. The level of burnout who had not experienced job internal and external conflict were higher than who had experienced that. The level of job satisfaction who had not experienced job internal and external conflict were higher than who had experienced that.

경찰관의 갈등경험은 개인의 정신적․육체적 건강에 악영향을 미칠 뿐만 아니라 직무성과와 치안 서비스의 질 하락을 유발하게 된다. 이 연구에서는 경찰관의 직장 내․외부에서의 갈등 수준을 파악하고, 갈등 수준과 탈진감 및 직무만족의 관계를 살펴봄으로서 갈등의 조직적 영향을 고찰하였다. 직장 내․외부의 갈등 수준을 살펴보면 직장 내부와 외부 갈등 모두 대략 20%가 경험이 있고, 80% 정도는 경험이 없는 것으로 나타났다. 직장 내부 갈등의 주요 대상은 일반 시민 35.6%, 동료 24.4%, 상사 20.0%, 부하 15.6%, 기타 4.4% 순이었다. 직장 외부 갈등의 주요 대상은 친구 32.5%, 형제․자매 16.2%, 자녀 16.2%, 이웃 13.5%, 기타 13.5%, 배우자 8.1% 순이었다. 직장 내․외부 갈등경험 모두 탈진감은 갈등경험이 없었던 경우가 갈등경험이 있었던 경우 보다 높게 나타났다. 직장 내․외부 갈등경험 모두 직무만족은 갈등경험이 없었던 경우가 갈등경험이 있었던 경우 보다 높게 나타났다.
