The object of this research is to find out the current state of teaching tools and facilities at schools for special need students, to identify teachers and parents' perception of demand for them and rooms for improvement. The questionnaire survey was done on 270 teachers and 300 parents inclusive special class and general schools in Jeonbuk. As for this study tools, SPSS(ver. 15.0) statistics program was used to process survey answer and to produce results on the surveys. The method of validation is frequency, cross tabulation, independent t-test, percentage and x2(Chi-square). Teaching aids and facilities should be available when and where they are needed to ensure teaching can produce maximum results among students. There should be continuing and structured administrative and financial assistance to maintain and expand the teaching aids and facilities. The contents of the convenient facilities definded as an obligation for special school and special class are not undertaken by many schools, and all of the special schools surveyed by the researcher are facilitated for the mentally regarded and bodily disabled treat the most of convenient facilities is concentrated for each disability type. Therefore, There is a need of expanding the convenient facilities for the disabled not only in the special schools but also in the special classes at general school to help on learning activities of the disabled students and enable them to make haman lives with or continuos interests and facility improvement.

본 연구는 특수교육 교구․설비 및 시설 실태에 대한 교직원과 학부모의 인식도를 조사하여, 이를 바탕으로 특수교육 대상 학생들이 일반학교에서도 제약 없이 교육을 받도록 지원체제를 개선하고자 하였다. 자료조사는 전북의 특수학교와 특수학급 및 일반학교 교직원과 학부모를 대상으로 하였고, 설문 인식도 조사에 대해 교차분석과 t검증을 실시하였다. 현재 특수교육 교구․설비에 대한 필요성 인식은 4.46p로 매우 높으나, 실태는 2.95p로 보통에 그치며, 장애인편의시설 확보는 일반학교 64%, 교내 안전시설에 대한 실태 인식은 보통이하 수준으로 낮았다. 특수교육 학생들에 대한 교구·설비 운영 또한 장애영역별 필요 사항들로 체계화되지 못하여 필요에 적합한 서비스가 제공되지 못하였다. 이에 대한 대안으로 특수학급과 통합학급의 장애인편의시설과 교구의 연차적 증대 및 현실적인 필요에 맞게 설치․운영될 것과, 학생들의 치료적 요구에 부응할 특수교육 교구기준 개편 및 운영시 점검사항의 안내를 확대하여 학생들이 다양한 교육활동을 통한 교구체험과 치료지원이 될 수 있도록 할 것을 제안하였다.
