The purpose of this study was to examine structural validity of Korean version of Caring Climate Scale(CCS) and to test its influence on 377 elementary school students' attitudes toward physical education class. A forward and backward translation process has been applied to get validation of the Korean version of CCS. In the process, the translation focused on conceptual equivalence, cultural meaning, and specific content of the physical education field rather than a literal translation. Results of this study revealed Korean version of CCS is consistent and valid. Specifically, internal consistency of CCS was .94. The CCS was also revealed as unidimentional structure and ten items showed strong factor loadings(.76-.86) on CCS. 66.15% of variance explained the CCS construct. The results of Confirmatory Factor Analysis(CFA) indicated strong model fit(χ² =121.0, df=33, Q=3.56, RMR=.030, CFI=969, TLI=.957, RMSEA=.074). For attitudes, results of the study indicated that If students feel they are cared they are likey to pay more attention, interested in, and do their best than students who perceived caring climate poorly. Results of this study indicated Korean version of CCS is reliable and valid to assess student's perception of caring climate in physical education setting. in future, it is suggested that following studies should retest the CCS to get more valid scale and the effort is needed to develop Korean Caring Climate Scale(KCCS).

본 연구의 목적은 초등학교 체육수업 현장에서 학생들이 지각한 케어링 분위기의 실증적 역할을 알아보기 위하여 Newton, Fry et al (2007)의 지각한 케어링 분위기 척도의 한국어판의 신뢰도와 타당도를 알아보고 체육수업에 참여하고 있는 학생들의 태도에 미치는 영향을 실증적으로 검증하는데 있었다. 결과 한국어판 케어링 분위기 질문지는 원본과 마찬가지로 단일요인으로 10개 문항으로 추출 되었으며 66%의 설명량을 보였다. 문항간 내적 일관성은 .94로 매우 높은 것으로 나타났으며, 확인적 요인 분석 결과 측정모형 적합도를 나타내는 지수가 높은 것으로 나타났다(χ²=121.0, df=33, Q=3.56, RMR=.030, CFI=969, TLI=.957, RMSEA=.074). 또한 초등학생들의 수업태도는 케어링을 높게 지각한 학생들이 학습의욕과 성취, 수업에 대한 흥미, 그리고 수업에 대한 흥미에서 지각한 케어링이 낮은 학생들에 비해 통계적으로 유의하게 높은 것으로 나타났다. 이러한 결과는 체육수업을 구성하는 여러 요소 중 관계에 중점을 두는 케어링 개념이 학생들의 수업에 대한 긍정적이고 적극적인 태도를 이끌어내는데 중요한 역할을 함을 실증적으로 보여주고 있다.
