This study aimed to estimate the economic impacts of the korea national park using a direct survey-based regional input-output (I-O) analysis and present the justification of nature conservation policy, better understanding role and function of National Park. On-site questionnaire surveys were conducted in nineteen national parks from 2009 to 2011. Total of 7,600 questionnaires were analyzed for this study. The results of this study indicate that visitors' total expenditures in national park neighborhood generated output impact of 1,652.4 billion Won, income impact of 291.7 billion Won, value-added impact of 796.5 billion Won, and employment impact of 28,333 part-time and full-time jobs.

본 연구는 지역 산업연관분석을 이용하여 19개 국립공원이 지역경제에 미치는 경제적 파급효과를 정량적으로 평가하여 국립공원의 기능과 역할에 대한 이해 증진과 자연 보전 정책 추진의 정당성을 제시하는데 그 목적이 있다. 2009년부터 2011년까지 19개 국립공원 총 7,600명을 대상으로 현지 설문조사 분석결과, 19개 국립공원이 지역경제에 미치는 파급효과는 생산파급 1조 6,524억원, 소득파급 2,917억원, 부가가치파급 7,965억원, 고용파급28,333명으로 나타났다.
