The purpose of this study is to examine the effects of plyometric training on physical fitness and muscle power in male Taekwondo players and provide basic materials for the importance of plyometric training in Taekwondo players based on the findings. Male Taekwondo players in university located in G Metropolitan City who had no physical defects and did not take any drugs served as the subjects. Using cluster random sampling, a total of 20 subjects were divided into the experimental group(n=10) and the control group(n=10). The findings were as follows. First, for changes in weight and body fat, although both the plyometric and Taekwondo group and the Taekwondo group showed slight changes, there was no significant difference. Second, for changes in physical fitness, the plyometric and Taekwondo group showed significant difference in all factors. No significant difference was found in the Taekwondo group. Finally, for changes in isokinetic muscle functions, the plyometric and Taekwondo group showed significant difference in extension of maximum muscle strength(left/right), flexion of maximum muscle strength(left/right), extension of muscle strength per weight(left), and flexion of muscle strength per weight(right).
