The purpose of this study was to analyze the incidence of pelvic deviation(PD) in golf players, and to compare the characteristics of PD according to gender difference. Subjects were 20 golf players(male 10, female 10) in national standing team, and assigned to two groups according to gender(M and F group). PD was measured by Gonstead method. Cobb's angle, Q angle, anatomical(AL) and functional(FL) leg length were also measured. As a result, deviation tendency(DT) of iliac length(IL) and width(IW) was identical in two groups, but DT of sacral width(SW) was different between two groups. Incidence of scoliosis in F group was significantly higher(p<.05). Discrepancy between both Q angles in F group was significantly larger(p<.05). IL and IW, SW were significantly correlated with AL in M group, while IL and SW were significantly correlated with FL in F group. In conclusion, it is suggested that compensatory training should be developed for prevention and suppression of scoliosis, and that hyperpronation and excessive internal rotation in lower leg should be analyzed for Q angle improvement, and that discrepancy in leg length should be usefully applied for prognosis of PD.
