The purpose of this study was to examine the effects of elementary school teacher's perceived empowerment on classroom management. The data were collected from 431 teachers who were selected by simple random sampling from pubic elementary schools. The statistical analysis method were verified through descriptive statistic(T-test, ANOVA) and correlation analysis, regression analysis by SPSSWIN(Ver 19.0). The results of the study were as follows: First, the teachers had a different awareness of their empowerment according to their sex, career, position and level of education. Second, the teacher empowerment was positively related with the classroom management in the order of status, self-efficacy, impact, decision-making. The conclusion of this study can be summarized as follows: First, head teacher, teachers with long career had more empowerment than there counterparts. they are given the opportunity to decision making about school plan and program, they seems to participate more eagerly than the others about school administration. Second, the teachers who felt that they are trusted to colleagues, they have the ability to help student, and they have the opportunity to influence others do their best for their work. Therefore they make full use of their empowerment to classroom management.

본 연구는 초등교사가 지각한 임파워먼트가 학급경영에 미치는 영향을 분석하는데 목적 이 있다. 연구를 위하여 학급을 담당하고 있는 초등교사 431명을 대상으로 자료를 수집하고 t 검증과 분산분석, 상관분석, 중다회귀분석을 실시하였다. 연구 결과 첫째, 초등교사는 자기효능감, 지위, 영향력, 자율성, 전문적 성장, 의사결정의 순으로 교사 임파워먼트를 지각하고 있었으며, 개인 배경변인에 따라 유의미한 차이가 있었 다. 둘째, 교사 임파워먼트는 학급경영에 유의미한 영향을 미치고 있었으며, 지위, 자기효능 감, 영향력, 의사결정의 순으로 영향을 미치고 있었다. 본 연구의 결과를 종합해 볼 때, 초등교사는 학교에서 의사결정의 기회와 업무를 주도적 으로 추진하는 기회가 많을수록 임파워먼트를 높게 지각하며, 그로 인해 교사 자신이 동료 로부터 신뢰받는 교사, 능력 있는 교사라고 느낄 때 학급경영을 더욱 적극적으로 수행한다는 것을 알 수 있다.
