This study examined playground equipment and facilities of Sangsang children's playgrounds and general children's playgrounds in Seoul and analyzed the use of KPS mark in accordance to the safety regulation by the law and the safety of playground equipment, facilities, and environment. The subject of this study was 100 general children's playgrounds and 100 sangsang children's playgrounds in Seoul. By utilizing SPSS 17.0 program, the collected data analyzed by frequency & percentile, Chi square analysis. The results were as follows. First, the most popular types of playground equipment were Slide(53.3%), Swing(44%), and Spring/Rocking equipment(40%), and sangsang children's playgrounds had much more various types of equipment than general children's playgrounds. Second, the condition of KPS Mark display on the equipment was as follows; Merry-Go-Round (95.7%), Climber (94.6%), and other equipment (89.3%). Most equipment that displayed KPS Mark was found in sangsang children's playgrounds. Third, the safety of playground equipment and facility was not in good condition; e.g., prohibiting use of broken equipment, repairing or replacing broken equipment, repainting old equipment, maintaining the level of cleanliness of wastebasket. The safety management of sangsang children's playgrounds was relatively in good condition than that of general children's playgrounds.

본 연구에서는 서울시내 일반어린이공원과 상상어린이공원에 설치된 놀이기구 및 부대시설의 현황을 살펴보고, 법에서 강제한 놀이기구의 KPS마크 부착실태, 놀이시설 및 환경, 부대시설의 안전성을 조사하여 분석하였다. 조사대상은 서울시내 일반어린이공원 100곳과 상상어린이공원 100곳이었으며, SPSS 17.0 프로그램을 이용하여 빈도와 백분율, 카이검증을 실시하였다. 조사결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 어린이공원에 가장 많이 설치된 놀이기구는 미끄럼틀(53.5%), 그네(44%), 흔들놀이기구(40%) 순이었고, 일반어린이공원보다 상상어린이공원에 설치된 놀이기구가 전반적으로 더 다양하고 종류도 많았다. 둘째, 어린이공원에 설치된 놀이기구의 KPS 마크 부착 정도를 살펴본 결과, 회전놀이기구(95.7%), 건너는기구(94.6%), 기타놀이기구(89.3%) 순이었고, 주로 상상어린이공원에 설치된 놀이기구에 부착되어 있었다. 셋째, 어린이공원의 놀이기구와 부대시설 안전실태 결과, 파손된 놀이기구의 폐쇄조치, 놀이기구와 부대시설의 파손
