In result of the study for gratitude of monkey in “Zigokuhen“ till now, the progress of appearance of monkey was denial image at first. And also, by this kind of works, it gives chance to provide to revenge to Oodono from Yosihide. Even if we can understand from the culture of Japan, we may think it will be a realization of kindness for his master. in its result, in this works, the image for monkey was denial image, but it changed to an affirmative image to make sublime the arts of father since he receives from his daughter. For example, through this works, it will remind what is the things to the readers to live with our mind and also we can think through the animal who is monkey for cultural attitude for thanks. If I saying again, we may think that Yosihide may appear monkey to get big help to get an artistic rescue.

지금까지 『지옥변』에서 원숭이의 보은에 대해 고찰한 결과, 처음에는 원숭이의 등장과정이 부정적인 이미지였다. 원숭이가 처음에는 모든 사람으로부터 생긴 것 자체부터가 미움을 받을 수밖에 없는 부정적인 이미지로 그려지고 있었다. 그러나 이후 작가가 부정적인 이미지에서 탈피시켰다고 할 수 있다. 또한 이렇게 함으로써 요시히데가 오오도노에게 복수할 수 있는 기회를 제공해 주고 있다. 이것은 일본의 문화에서도 알 수 있는 것처럼 주군에 대한 보은을 실현하고 있다고 볼 수 있다. 결과, 이 작품에서는 처음에는 원숭이의 이미지가 부정적이었으나 딸의 사랑을 받음으로서 딸이 가장 사랑하는 아버지의 예술을 승화시키는 긍정적인 이미지로 변해갔다. 즉 이 작품을 통해 현재 독자들에게 우리가 가슴속에 지니고 살아야 하는 것이 무엇인가를 상기시켜주고 있으며 자꾸 잊혀져가는 고마움에 대한 문화의 자세를 원숭이라는 동물을 통해서 생각할 수 있다. 다시 말해서 결국 원숭이는 보은을 통하여 화가 요시히데가 예술적 구원을 얻는데 큰 일조를 하기 위해 원숭이를 등장시킨 의도였다고 볼 수 있다.
